News : Would You Like To Be An International Host?
Date: Nov 26, 2012
The International Society are looking to recruit students to be International Hosts. This will involve offering a place in your home for international students to stay for a few days over Christmas.
Hosts will benefit by experiencing different cultures and traditions and enjoy the opportunity to share your home country’s traditions and cultures.
The majority of international students never have the chance to see inside a British home and see what a “British” home is like. They have found that both students and their hosts gain a great deal from these meetings, in sharing experiences and learning about each others day-to-day lives. Many students describe hospitality visits to UK homes as their most memorable experiences of being in the UK.
Could you and your family entertain someone whilst they are in Manchester? Host families offer hospitality at Christmas time or during vacation periods when international students are often unable to travel home. Your guests will appreciate the simple experiences of home life such as a warm hearted welcome for an afternoon or evening, a walk in the countryside, an afternoon tea or dinner with a family. Many hosts form ongoing and long lasting freindships with their international guests.
